Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk powder
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup ghee, for greasing your hands
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4-5 cardamom pods, crushed
  • A few strands of saffron (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the milk powder, flour, and lemon juice. Mix well until a dough forms.
  2. Grease your hands with ghee and roll the dough into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot, carefully add the lalmohan balls. Fry for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  4. While the lalmohan balls are frying, make the sugar syrup. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sugar has dissolved and the syrup is thick.
