Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chhana (cottage cheese)
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder

Instructions:

  1. Wash the chhana under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Squeeze out the excess water from the chhana.
  3. Divide the chhana into small balls.
  4. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water.
  5. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, or until the sugar has dissolved.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the syrup thickens.
  7. Add the chhana balls to the hot syrup and cook for 15 minutes, or until they become dry and crunchy.
  8. Remove the danadar from the syrup and let them cool completely.
  9. Serve them plain or with a dollop of whipped cream.
